Sub Ek: Nothing Exists That Is Not Siva

Every now and then, I like to pull a quote or thought from my journal — something that’s stayed with me, echoing in quiet moments.

This one originally came from a powerful book: The Recognition Sutras by Christopher Wallis — a modern translation and commentary on 1,000-year-old Tantric teachings written by the great Kashmir Shaivite master, Kṣemarāja. His work, Pratyabhijñā-hṛdayam, is a jewel of spiritual insight.

One line in particular has never left me:

“The state that is not Śiva does not exist — not in word, not in thought, not in thing.”

When I first read this, it stopped me. It still does.
It’s the ultimate surrender.

Everything is God.
There is nothing outside the divine.
You can’t mess it up. You can’t be separate. So let go.
Let yourself rest in that.

As Neem Karoli Baba would say: “Sub Ek.” All is One.

There’s such peace in this truth.
Yes, our awareness can rise and fall. We can drift. We can forget.
But the essence? The ground of being? Always Śiva. Always One.

Nothing you can say, think, or do falls outside that wholeness.
So breathe. Trust. Surrender.

Jai Hanuman 🙏
