The Importance of Pilgrimage

What I’ve come to realise — especially after my most recent trip to India — is how deeply powerful pilgrimage can be.

It’s not just about visiting temples or sacred places. It’s about softening the heart. Deepening devotion. Strengthening the connection to Ram, or whatever divine form speaks to you. Pilgrimage pulls you out of routine and places you in the current of grace — often in ways you don’t understand until much later.

Since returning from India, my life has shifted.

I found a new job. I started a degree. My relationship with my wife of 19 years has grown richer. I’m a more present father. And I feel better equipped to meet the challenges of daily life — with more poise, clarity, and love.

And it’s not just India. Even on work trips to Europe, I’ve found myself stepping into quiet churches, saying the Lord’s Prayer, sitting in stillness beneath vaulted ceilings. Those moments, too, feel sacred. Holy.

I’ve come to believe that every journey can become a pilgrimage — if you carry the right intention. Even your daily life, lived with remembrance and openness, can become a path walked in reverence.
